El Duque Disguises Self for Secret Scouting Mission

Sometime today, from an undisclosed airport, Mr. Senor El Duque,

lead rogue in the IIH,IIF, IIc editorial staff and ownership cadre, will depart for a foreign country.

Rumors abound.  Editors and journalists from every major league city,
and even from a supposedly " wacked" out Alphonso working off-site
in South Mexico, suggest that Brian Cashman has engaged El Duque
to " scout new talent for the Bombers. "

After considerable research, El Duque has concluded that British Cricket Players represent a valid source of right handed batters.  Impressed already with our Chinese prospects, Duque
is ( reportedly ) en route to the UK.  None of this has been confirmed by anyone.

A call to Alphonso's cell phone got a garbled, " no comment " kind of response. The only thing I will tell you, " muttered Alphonso, " is that El Duque is not exactly of the strawberries and cream set, now is he?  So why would he be going to cricket matches?  And who wants to watch a bunch of bugs hopping around in a dried out wheat field, anyway?"

After last night's deal with Pittsburgh, however, anything can still happen.  Personally, I wish Duque well.  Things are slowing down for him.  Just as they have for Phil Hughes, Carl Pavano, and Ian Kennedy.

We'll know soon enough what El Duqu is doing.  And no, we are not at war with our allies, so another " embedded with the troops " assignment is apparently not in these cards.

However, if he returns with one of those fraternity paddles, a new enthusiasm for wickets and one of those " Queen Mum " hats, we'll know he found something .

How about a catcher, Duque?
