I'm glad I was in the air and not able to watch today's game, because here's what would have happened:
I'd have watched the first four innings, then gone wilding in the neighborhood, overturning grave stones and vandalizing cars.
Then I would have come home, found the Yankees won, and feel bad.
There are a million points to be made, but here's the only one I've got:
We absolutely must have a guy who can come in and steal bases. That's what Justin Christian can do, and it's also what Brett Gardner can do. We gotta have that guy. We can't spend $500 billion on a team and then forget to find a base-stealing specialist. (That's been our case for the last six years.) Remember Homer Bush? Remember what he did to opposing closers? Or to that dominant starter who was growing tired? He brought chaos.
Today, it was Christian's double-steal that broke everything open. (This I'm taking from a game account, so if I'm wrong, sue the AP.)
We gotta run. We gotta steal back what's rightly ours.
