Lets consider John Sterling the MEL ALLEN of our time. Mr Allen, had a THOUSAND nicknames for the players ('ol reliable, The Chairman of The Board, the Commerce Comet, Superchief, Springfield rifle..et al) Mr Allen ROUTINELY performed surgery on his calls to keep pace with the game, and he flubbed his share, they all do! Im hearing a LOT of Sterling bashing, yet hear ZERO comments as to who should REPLACE him when and IF he leaves...hint..HE AINT LEAVIN ANYTIME SOON!!!! The Lovers love and the Haters cant wait to hear what he will say next. All you haters out there, admit it...YOU LOVE HIM!!!!!!

There's a name for that type of 'love' by the haters.
Masochism.
It only leads to a downward spiral.
We don't write IIH,IIF,IIc for any political, moral or ethical purposes.
We write it because we need a forum to vent about the Yankees and right wing Red Sox fans.
We have no interest whatsoeve in wanting John "out " or replaced.
He should remain forever in consert with this forum.
But he is what he is. And that is our focus.
"Let us go then, you and I ," and reflect on John's warbles, " when evening is spead out against the sky."

It ain't the nicknames, or the blown calls. You're right, Sterling is hardly a pioneer on those avenues. His pomposity and delusions of grandeur can be annoying but, hey, my wife and kids annoy me and I'm not throwing them to the curb, or vice versa.
John's like the weather. Weather republican or democrat, god-fearing or atheist, hip hop or old school, John provides common ground for conversation among all Yankee fans. He's a pretty safe subject and even disagreements tend to be pretty low key.
Now, Suzyn Waldman....don't get me started on that histrionic bag o' wind. My solution: Bring back Jay Johnstone. John and Jay...Rogers and Astaire...Grain Alcohol and Hawaiian Punch. Those are combinations I can not only live with, but embrace.
I love Suzyn. Because Suzyn loves the Yankees. She really wants the Yankees to win.
