The Walk Year For All Of Us

It has come to my attention that John And Suzyn are still awaiting news on a radio contract renewal.

They are in the same position as many great ballplayers, in that this is their walk year. If their contracts are not renewed, there will be new voices in the Yankee radio broadcast booth, come 2012.

As we all know, if a contract is not done before the season begins, there will be no movement until the season is over. The Yankees, and their radio cohorts, do not negotiate while the season is underway.

Oh, and by the way, if they both walk then musn't we walk as well here at IIH? Is it not true that the core basis for this blog was the on air presence of Big John? If there is no Big John, can there be an IIH? Is not our URL; Johnsterling.blogspot.com ?

So how do these things shape up as we sip our first shot of rye this morning?

CBS could choose to bring back John, but not Suzyn. They could bring a new female voice to the game...a Lohan, a Hilton, an Aguilera. Or they could bring another male voice like Sam Champion or Dennis Miller.

And what if, Dieu forbid, they don't bring back Big John? What if they give us, for example, Luis Tiant ?

So we have issues to address;

1. Will there be a new contract before the first live pitch?

2. How will John and Suzyn handle their dilemma on air?

3. Who should be replaced and why?

4. Should anyone be replaced and why?

5. How will candidates be auditioned? Will it be nepotism or authentic, fair play?

6. Who would we, the fans, prefer and why?

7. How much should John and Suzyn be asking for, and how long a contract?

8. What role will the Hal and Hank duo play in this?

9. Will the media hear from El Duque on his preferences ( er...thoughts and ideas )?

10. Does "She-Fan" have a radio voice?

It is early yet, I know, but this is taking on heat faster than the Yanks' #4 starter.

And it is only March.

losing John or Suzie is unacceptable, otherwise the site changes its name to "It Is Gone." We must look to the people of Egypt for guidance. Hey Alph what happened at your weekend retreat?

We are not allowed to say.

But I can give a few clues:

1. The snow was so deep we could toss eggs 50 yards out onto the lake and none would break.

2. We concluded that Mariano Rivera should become a starter again.

3. A number of us discovered, " Crown Royal Black."

4. Hauling wooden pallets 100 yards in thigh deep snow downhill can be quite amusing.

5. If you are familiar with vapor in a turkey sized basting bag, we had plenty.

6. Some think the key to the season is AJ.

7. Our mantra for the 2011 season is, " Transition Year."

8. Accordingly, we will not trade any of our prospects for over the hill big names.

9, We plan on absconding with Cashman and the Hal and Hank duo, as soon as the trade deadline approaches.

10. If you have a large car and a " sap," you could help us out here.

Suzyn's continuing prescence in the booth for all these years must be related to a secret stash of letters, videos, and/or taped phone conversations between herself and The Great Leader.
