T-Minus 18: Abreu Closes in on Balboni's Mark of 41 Homers as a Yankee

Steve Balboni hit 41 home runs in parts of five seasons with the New York Yankees.
After just 1+ seasons in pinstripes, Bobby Abreu's frontal assault on this mark sits at 23.
Perhaps sensing the impact of this march toward history, the Yankees recently exercised their $16M option for Abreu in 2008.
With 18 dingers to go, it's anyone's guess whether Bobby can catch Steve next season.
But one thing is certain.
The chase is on.

Drink Balboni in. Always goes down smooth.

If he beats Balboni, we should start calling him "Bye-Bye Abreu."
