Fun Facts about Sidney Ponson!

Sidney is 6'1" and lists his weight at 260!

In 1998, Sidney became the third player from Aruba to play in the majors!

In 2003, Sidney was knighted in the Order of Orange-Nassau by Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands!

On Christmas Day, 2004, Sir Sidney assaulted an Aruban judge who questioned the way Sir Sidney was driving his powerboat. He spent 11 days in jail!

In January 2005, Sir Sidney was charged with DWI in Florida!

In August 2005, Sir Sidney was arrested for DWI in Baltimore!

In September 2005, the Orioles released Sir Sidney, citing a "pattern of contempt for what can reasonably be expected of a Major League Baseball player."

In December 2005, Sir Sidney spent five days in a Baltimore jail!

In July 2006, Sir Sidney became a Yank. It's been reported that if Sir Sidney had refused being sent to the bullpen, we couldn't have traded Shawn Chacon for Craig Wilson!

In August 2006, the Yanks let Sir Sidney go!

Two weeks ago, despite Sir Sidney's 4-1 record and 3.88 ERA, Texas dumped him, reportedly on orders from the owner. Said a Ranger official: "We're not going to get into details other than to say we're clearly trying to put together a team here!"

Because of his police record, Sir Sidney needs a special visa to pitch in Canada!
