Michael Kay owes an apology to the city of Seeragrussce

That's right. The whaleheaded superstar of Yes News Channel should get down on his knees today and beg forgiveness to the upstate New York Emerald City of Syracuse for the unforgivable flubbing of the name yesterday, as he described the the flyover by the 174 Fighter Wing of the Air Guard... the "Boys from Syracuse."

That's Syracuse. Rhymes with sheer-abuse. It's easy. But Kay yesterday -- had he been drinking? -- slurred and slobbered incoherently for a frozen moment that should be grounds for a lawsuit.

It was Seeeeeegerush. It was Sarrrragarsh. It was Seeragluch.

The good people of upstate New York, the builders of the Emerald City, the keepers of the Haundenosaunee watchfires around the Tree of Peace... they deserved better from one who is quite comfortable in pronouncing the likes of Damaso Marte.

Thank God he didn't have to describe the Boys from Poughkeepsie.

As a reader born and raised in Syracuse, I am betrayed and appalled at Michael Kay. But we always pronounced it "Sair - a cuse", not "Seer - a cuse"

He should be sent down to Triple A for that.
