If there is a Ying and Yang between the Giants and Yankees -- something Yankeeologists within the traditional YGKR tribe (Yankees, Giants, Knicks, Rangers) have long postulated -- it is that when the Giants collapse, the Yankees win.
The Giants' three Super Bowl victories occurred in 1986, 1990 and 2007 -- each corresponding to a painful Yankee collapse.
Likewise, the Yankees' great run of the late 1990s took place without the Giants offering New York a "City of Champions" mantle, as Boston and Pittsburgh have enjoyed.
Today, in Philly, Eli Manning and company disgraced themselves. They lost 40-17, a score that does not reflect the actual gap in play. It could have been 60-17.
By the way, no celebrities died today. We've come up empty in that golden coffin trough.
Fortunately, the Giants came through.
