Let's look at the schedule (and my guess).

3 v CLE (1-2)
3 @ TBR (0-3)
3 v OAK (3-0)
4 v TBR (1-3)
4 @ TOR (1-3)
3 @ CIN (2-1)
3 v BAL (2-1)
3 v SDP (2-1)
3 @ SEA (1-2)

I'll go with 13 wins, 16 losses.

But a lot rides on what news we get about Aaron Judge later today.

Fun times

Carl J. Weitz said...

With these hitters and outfield defense 12 wins, 17 losses.
I should probably wait to see if Judge lands on the IL. But OK.

Golly gee willikers . . . . I am just so gosh darn conflicted . . .

Should I be Peter Positive or Apocalyptic Andy . . . ?

I'm gunna go with Hopeful Harvey and say:

16 wins

mr duque?

what will the winner/s win?

The Archangel said...

14, cuz I've always been an optimist.

Alphonso said...

We are a below .500 team, so I say 10 wins maximum for the month of May.

Vampifella said...

I'll go with 13 wins as well. I'm hoping for a teardown this year, but then again the Yanks has so many terrible contracts that it probably wouldn't happen.

I'll be the optimist here...11

In case you want to rethink

Loaisiga to have bone spur on elbow removed. Out until Aug-Sept
Trivino heading towards TJ. Surgery, would be out until 2025.

Judge scheduled to take BP tonight.

For May, I'll go with 17-12. The bullpen isn't fully toasted yet (though Bazooka Joe is apparently being "advised" to set it aflame ASAP) so there might be another month of decent pitching. And this lineup is so cruddy that anyone temporarily above suck level might be able to get some energy flowing. But mostly I say 17 because the Yankees are the perfect team to raise hopes with a surge in May...and then crush those hopes in June. It'll be interesting to listen to.

5 wins in May, says I.

Ken of Brooklyn said...

I'll say 13 games as well, just enough to lose, but not enough losses to truly shake things up,,,, typical Yankees. Though I can also see a complete freewill with this lineup!

Ken of Brooklyn said...

Typo> Freefall

ranger_lp said...

What the heck...going with 15...ya figure someone comes off the EL which will be named the SL soon...

Oasisdave said...

I'm thinking 9

Oasisdave said...

Also Judge to IL

Loaisiga is the kind of pitcher that smart teams trade while they still have value. His career has been plagued by more surgeries than the late Michael Jackson. Cashman just doesn't have it in him to make a move that may blow-up and make him look foolish. Not a great attribute for a GM.

Boone, the shaved ape, puts Holmes is in who blows the save.

Elementary.

Doug K. said...

Holmes is an arsonist who just flushed German's terrific effort. Why is he "the closer"?

They keep getting worse and worse and worse

The Yankees only scored two runs anyway but German took a shutout into the ninth.

Unbelievable. Actually, all too believable.

DickAllen said...

Kiss this one goodbye

BernBabyBern said...

Un. Fucking. Believable

88 fucking pitches for German, and he’s out.

If I had a dollar for every Yankee fan who said to themselves “Oh, shit” when Holmes trotted in, I bet I could retire. But Boone is clueless.

BernBabyBern said...

Oh, and after watching this debacle I’m going 9-20 for May.

BTR999 said...

……aaaaand Hicks strikes out to end the game. PERFECT!

Publius said...

Get shellacked on Texas, lose by double digits in last game. Who thought it could get worse?

DickAllen said...

a fitting end to a shit loss

Publius said...

2 hours, 6 minutes. At least it was a brisk collapse.

Publius said...

Every move he makes blows up in his face and makes him look foolish. The ones he doesn't make blow up in his face and make him look foolish. The man should not be running a major league baseball team.

Rufus T. Firefly said...

Publius, with all due respect--- almost everyone here thought it could get worse, and we still think so.

Publius said...

Tru enough. But this one. My god. We're beyond pathetic, even beyond absurd. This is grotesque.

Carl J. Weitz said...

A Cashman-constructed bullpen. Johnny Wad Holmes abd Magic Wandy Peralta.

HoraceClarke66 said...

With Judge on the DL, I'm going with 4. Complete collapse.

Mildred Lopez said...

I had to leave to pick up my daughter just when Boonehead was coming out to get German. Felt a cold chill because, well, Boonehead. We got home 10 minutes ago.

BTR999 said...

Count yourself lucky, Mildrerd.

Doctor T said...

9-22. Cashman blames the long haired bat boy and fires him.

Hazel Motes said...

MAYDAY MAYDAY Yanks now in the cellar.

Oasisdave said...

I want to lower mine to 8 wins, actually maybe 7

The Archangel said...

Just remember folks,

1) It's just a game,

2)We can remind ourselves that not a single Yankee even knows of our existence,

3)We have two infielders and a washout starting in the OF,

4)We can fondly remember that there was only one Mariano.

and Hal, and ASSman---like the Bible says, you reap what you sow.
Fuck you both for destroying the one lifetime love of mine from the 1962 WS on.
Can I get an Amen?

The Archangel said...

One more little tidbit curtesy of RAB, this is the first time the Yanks have been 8 games out on 5/1 since 1984!!
That was the year the Tigers went 35-5 from the gate.
Tell ASSMan that he is in rare territory now.

Publius said...

Cashman knows who we are, Angel. That little shit googles himself constantly. Count on it.
