I'm pretty sure we're ok in the catching department, but thanks for your interest...

IIHIIFIIc fan favorite, Gary Sánchez, was released by San Francisco.

From the article:

Sánchez, who signed a minor-league deal with the Giants on March 31, failed to earn a call up to the team’s major league roster after batting a dismal .164 with no home runs, eight RBIs and 19 strikeouts in 16 games at Triple A Sacramento.

No mention of passed balls.

sorta feel bad for the guy - I wonder what's next

Spending the close to 20 million dollars he made as a ballplayer.

I'm sure there are some MLB teams that will take Sanchez for the minimum salary and hope he does better than their current catcher. Small payroll teams like the A's. would be the most likely.

Good point Doug - never mind.

Aroldis Chapman came in, walked three, balked, gave up four stolen bases, a go-ahead two run single, and now is being looked at for an injury.

The Aroldis Chapman experience!

Mrs. Chapman is also being checked for injuries, but just out of habit.

Sanchez will be playing in the Dominican League beginning in the fall.

FWIW, I absolutely despised him. He squandered his talent through his laziness, and the sight of him in pinstripes caused me to become physically ill. Hands down my least favorite player of all time.

LOL. I would not be shocked to see Genius Cashman reacquire Stud To Dud Sanchez.

Doesn't "sleepy" Sanchez look thinner and a lot smaller than he used too? Must be from all the road work he put in over the winter.

I think that picture is him saying ,"F you, I'm off to the Korean League."

On another front: The Pirates came into Tampa with a 20-and-9 record. Left 20-12.

Oi vey.

Girardi was right all those years ago. Gary's a lazy underachiever. I thought then Joe was a D first catching grinder jealous of Gary's remarkable offensive ability, trying to smother him to play "the right way". But nope, Joe knew his man.

Pub, they don't call it old school for nothing.

Just for yucks, can you imagine what Billy Martin would have done to this guy.

If I know Cashman, he's thinking about bringing back Sanchez. Because that's what he loves to do. Bringing back players for second (and sometimes third) go-rounds.
