Man, David Ortiz came within an eyelash -- A HALF EYELASH -- of hitting his first home run of 2009 last night.
A high, high pop to left -- way up there; man, he crushed it -- and almost scored Jacoby Ellsberry from third.
Right now, everybody in New England can feel the excitement.
That first Pappi home run is coming.
Not only that, but Ortiz got a big hit last night in the eighth inning.
Got him on the arm.
