Sore Loser Rays Need to Be Punished in a New, More Keenly Felt Way

The Rays are at it again. Last night, David "Future Hall of Famer" Price beaned Mark Teixiera. Claimed it was a mistake. Ha ha. I'm sure it tickles them. Cost a team its MVP three days before the post-season.

Their manager, Joe Maddon, giggled it up two years ago after his thug freight-trained our catcher at home plate -- blind-sided him in a spring exhibition. When Joe Girardi protested, Maddon joked about how he'd love to talk to Joe: Said they could discuss wine. Hilarious.

He probably thought last night's payback pitch -- yes, CC hit Carlos Pena last month -- was a riot.

OK. Fine. They wanna fight? We could fight. We could pitch scrubbinies the next two days, pay $10,000 a head, and let Shelley Duncan sort out who gets crumpled after the benches empty. But, nahhhhh. Let's not.

Fight with a pig, you get covered with mud, and the pig likes it.

Here's the plan: Public vow.
We, the Yankees, shall never bid a thin dime on a Tampa Bay Devil Bum when he or she declares free agency. No offer. No negotiation. No talk. No interest. Let them sign with Toronto. So long.

Of course, we won't stop buying players. That would be unAmerican and hurt the economy.

But if we ban former Rays -- never have anything to do with their hell-spawned franchise -- ponder this:

Each of these guys just lost a million dollars.
