Today Is The Day For All The Cliches

Here we go, fans.

The day after another devastating defeat to the Angels.

The day after AJ Burnett bombed and our bullpen died ( except for MO, of course ).

The day Swish became a goat with the bases loaded, and our WS hopes on the line.

It is like Saint Swithens' day or Boxer day in England.

The day we drag out all those optimistic, positive thoughts for games 6 and 7.

Let me begin, and you can all add yours as the hours drag by:

1. " The Yanks may have lost a thriller but we are still going home with a 3-2 lead."

2. " It's going to be more delicious, winning in front of our fans in our new stadium."

3. " We've got Andy and CC set-up to pitch. No one is more clutch than Andy."

4. "Only four teams have ever blown a 3-1 lead in the league championship series."

5. "We just need to play quality baseball, one out at a time."

6. " This Yankee team is a team of destiny. They are having so much fun out there."

7. " My Tarot card reader said the Yankees would win their 27th this season."

8. " So what if the Yankees became the only team in baseball to blow a 3-0 lead? Only a handful of guys from that team are still here. "

9. " The country and the networks want to see Phillies/ Yankees. The Angels aren't even a real team."

10. "A lot of our guys haven't been hitting in California. But once they review their stats from Yankee stadium, it will all come together."

11. " I support this team through thick and thin I know their gunna win."

12. " Now we're back to Yankee weather; 38 degrees, rain and wind. "

If only one of several things went the Yankees way, we would have won game 5. First off, can someone explain to me how Joba is ahead of Robertson in the bullpen? Joba spent the year as a mediocre starter with a nearly 5.00 ERA while K-Rob led the AL is K's Per 9 innings among relievers. Joe should have brought in Robertson as soon as AJ let the first batter on. Secondly, Tex and Alex up after DJ and Damon lead off the game with singles... gotta drive at least one in guys. And finally, Nick Freaking Swisher has turned into a literal joke. He could have 4 or 5 RBI's in this series without even needing a hit. A deep fly ball in just one of the many times we needed one and this series is done.

All in all, the Angels are extremely fortunate to be in this position. Saturday, we bury them.
