El Duque forgot to include one pitcher from his list, Bob Grim's son Alphonso. Like Brien Taylor, he hurt his arm in a bar fight.

I forgot about Alphonso Grim. He was lights out, motor running, 24/7. Too bad about that incident at the Copa. He should have never gone drinking with Sammy Davis Jr.
I remember the back of my Bob Grim baseball card in 1955 or 1956 saying that he worked as a bartender in the off-season.
He won 20 games in '54 and was rookie of the year. Hurt his arm, had one great year coming out of the pen, then got hurt again and wasn't any good after that.
We traded him and "Suitcase" Simpson to KC for Duke Maas and Virgil Trucks. Players don't have cool names like that anymore.
