At 11 a.m., one vote separated Brian Cashman from the man whom Cashman would not have allowed challenge him, Rafael Soriano, in a ballot that could symbolically alter the course of the Yankee franchise for the next decade.
If Cashman wins, he will assume complete and iron-fisted control of the team, which his supporters say is necessary to propel the Yankees into the future.
If Soriano wins, the forces of unrest will have successfully challenged the Yankee internal high command, bringing reforms and -- yes -- potential negatives for this upcoming season and beyond.
Yankiverse, democracy brings great benefits -- and responsibility. The future is up to you... and you... and you.

96 Hero Jimmy Leyritz has been named the pitching coach for the nearby Newark Bears. Gotta pay for that lawyer same how. Another player from part of the 90's dynasty Tim Raines is the manager of da Bears.
Leyritz feels he’s grateful for a second chance in what he calls “a league of second chances.”
“I’m fortunate,” Leyritz said. “It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time. I’m looking forward to getting the same break as a lot of the players in independent baseball, getting one more chance (,and I gotta pay my lawer fees).”
