Would've been nice, but it might be good in the long run to have these kids hurt a bit today. Let the Yankees come into 2018 with a chip on their shoulder and a drive to get there next time around.

Better season than one hoped for. Not a great way to go out, but there was only one way that was going to really feel completely fulfilling, and that was beating the Dodgers. As all-caps says, "not our time."

Thanks Duque, Fonz and all for 2017 coverage and so much enjoyable reading. Will still be checking in daily from enemy territory, of course.

90.1 million comes off the books. T. Frazier, Holliday, Garcia, Pineda gone. Maybe CC. If Tanaka walks, another 22M. Some of that money goes to arbitration players. Now add to that the bevy of talent in Scranton Wilkes-Barre. I think we're in good shape here. Pitching is the biggest issue since the FA market for pitchers will, in lieu of better words, suck. Let's see if Adams, Smith and German can make the club instead. And let's hope that Andujar and Torres make the team. The less automatic outs, the better. And don't forget Garrett Cooper.

This is- without question- the best Yankee site there is. While I personally dislike the times it goes off-road into politics, I understand that some of that is normal and what with the nonsense out there (particularly in and with the NFL) probably unavoidable. Thank you to the progenitors of this forum for the skeptical and those not quite ready to swallow the brimming ladles full of YES meatstew. Was there any hint last night from the Master and his batwoman as to what will happen in the Sunoco Broadcast booth next year? Driven by Jeep?

Do you ever even consider posting when the "raison d'etre" for the post is NOT to belittle one or many of us?? Your flagon of ill-will seems to be bottomless.
