Black Day All Around

The traditional " Black Swan" icon has been removed, just for today, due to unusual circumstances.  A flock of four has gathered to deal with the questions, the media, and the forecast.

At least four Yankees may be hurt, in various degrees;

Sabathia
Drury
Wade
Sanchez

The Yankees continued a familiar, bleak pattern of losing all tie games.  Particularly, and with greater regularity, those which occur at home.

Every Yankee except Adam Warren was used.  To no good end.

Our invincible, overwhelming power hitting line-up is not running on all cylinders.  If any.

The bullpen is a mess, to be polite.

You know the old expression when you are put into a game, " the ball will find you?"  And, sure enough, it always does.  Early and often.  So you better be ready.

In 8 games, Aaron Boone is  confronting a year's worth of problems.  The game has found him.

Better be ready.

This team sucks.

Right now I’m looking forward more to the inevitable case of dysentery I’ll have when I get back from India than the prospect of watching another game of “hitters” swinging at pitches outside the strike zone and ignoring the ones thrown down the middle, a bunch of “relief” pitchers treating every game like it’s batting practice, and pretty much a whole damn team about as sturdy as a porcelain vase.

Worst single Yankees' day since 2012? I'd have to say so.

Among other things, this team looks lifeless and not particularly bright.

A wedge of swans descended upon us and as a game they now haunt us like never before.

What would George do? Fire Boone, with cause. Keep him much longer and you’ll have to keep him all season

RailRiders Report: Chase Adams stunk, bullpen was great and Abi Avelino's walk off homer capped an improbable 5 run ninth in Moosic. Good guys win home opener. No injuries to report.

Reminds me of the days when Ron Blomberg broke his toe nail and was on the 30-day DL. It seemed that he was always on the DL.

It was good enough for Yogi after 16 games- it is good enough for the Wrong Boone

Aside from the Toronto flameout—in which he committed the mortal sin of listening to his proven, veteran reliever—what, exactly, has Ma Boone done wrong?

Who, exactly, as manager would provide the team with four starters able to pitch seven innings, and four relievers able to pitch anywhere near as well as they did last year?

It wasn't Boone who brought in Mr. Migraines, or Neil "0 HRs, 2 Ribbies" Walker. And it was us, as I recall, who begged to see Miggy and Tyler Too—now a combined 3-32—play ball everyday.

Right now, the Yankees are hitting .207 as a team, with Sanchez at .063, Tyler One at .158, and Gardner at .182.

The bullpen has surrendered 19 earned runs in just 36.2 innings, even with that generally gallant effort last night.

You could bring back Casey Stengel to manage, with John McGraw, Marse Joe McCarthy, and Buck Showalter as his bench coaches, and you would still not have a winning team with that sort of performance.
