With Stanton as an albatross on the Yankees, there is zero chance in hell Hal would JD. Even with one more year of Lloyd's of London picking up almost 80% of Jacoby's 22 million dollar tab.

In any event, Martinez has not yet decided to opt out. Even if he does that might not be the best thing for Yankee fans because it would give them money for them to sign Mookie Betts.
