Actress Kate Hudson -- daughter of actress Goldie Hawn and one of the almost-famous Hudson brothers, (Ernie?) -- has been voted
EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH!
The award was given as a result of a month in which Hudson -- former star of "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" -- batted .360 with 6 home runs and 18 RBIs, while fielding a flawless third base. Her key home runs against Minnesota, California and Philadelphia led the Yankees to the cusp of the franchise's 27th World Championship.
Questions were raised when it became apparent that Hudson is not technically a Yankee employee but is a "friend" of one. Under New York State law, working benefits cannot legally be extended to friends or acquaintances of contractually hired employees, except in extreme circumstances, such as a great post-season by that certain employee!

I was a strong Suzyn supporter from the start, but I wan to congratulate Ms Hudson on her victory. A-rod has been amazing this post-season and its obvious Kate's doing.
A-Rod cannot get credit for his accomplishments so far, until the Yankees win the championship.
If we don't get it, whatever he did is nothing.

I'm sure A-Rod wouldn't have gotten those three RBI doubles in Games Four and Five had not Kate kissed his boo-boos from the two Game Three HBPs. Those really hurt and you could see that his feelings were hurt too. A caring female can really come in handy during such hard times.
Great choice by the voters, and great work by El Duque to find that little known exception in NY State Law that allowed the recognition despite Ms. Hudson not being an actual Yankee employee or spouse.
Thanks also to WalMart for their continued sponsorship of the Yankee Employee of the Month award. I see that the extortionist has been pretty quiet lately. He must have gotten the message.
I am concerned about the lack of gender sensitivity shown by the wording of the certificate - "in recognition for HIS potential for future outstanding performance" (emphasis added).
Or is there something about "Ms" Hudson that we do not know?
What we didn't know was that her middle name is GARRY! WTF?!? Why was this information withheld? Of course there's going to be gender confusion here.
Obviously the credit belongs to her dad, Snake Plisken, for giving A-Rod "the pre-date talk".
Is it possible to give the award to her vagina?
Just remember that Ms Hudson was able to accomplish more in one short season than C-Rod was ever able to do in 4 seasons as a member of the Yankee Family.
