Ben Gamel hit a stellar .275 with 11 big flies. He also pilfered a solid 4 bags and was a walk machine, with 36 free passes!
I like ALL-CAPS' agenda.
It would be ridiculous for the Yanks to even consider anything like the Seattle pipe dream. As has been suggested here, a better idea would be to pay some of the salaries to deal Jacoby and Heady Lamar.
Mike Ford has terrific potential, even if he did go to Princeton. Cave and McKinney both deserve a solid shot at OF slots next spring, and should at least be back-ups.
Whatever one thinks of the Sonny Gray-Toddfather-Jaime Garcia Massacres, they opened up enough room on the 40-man to protect every worthy prospect liable to the Rule 5 Draft.
The big focus now has to be on making the rotation playoff ready. Yes, I guess I would risk something more on Tanaka, after this October. But really, how much greater an offer than $22-23 mill a year is anybody going to make him?
