John Warbles Again, Tarzans a Solid 5.79-Second Yodel Following Win O'r Twins

FLASH: The Yankiverse heard a gutsy return to form from the Driven-by-Jeep Man of Thuuuuhs Wednesday night, when John Sterling nailed a primal, piercing 5.79-second WinWarble, shortly after Cap'n Jeet snared one hot poke off the hickory stick of Joe "Minny Main Man" Mauer.

Now, birdies tell This Reporter that the Secret Committee of Vital Sterling Statistics and Analysis must decide soon whether to add Tuesday night's woeful non-warble to the Happy Homer's seasonal average, which currently stands above 5.50.

It has to be factored in.

It is the same as a batter leading the league in hitting by .001 point as the last, meaningless game of the season approaches.

The guy behind him is on the DL but has enough at bats to qualify.

Does he take a sick day and secure the title,or does he attack like Ted Williams did with his .400 average on the line?

If he sits it out, his crown will be forever tainted.

No matter what we want to believe, no matter how much compassion El Duque can stir in our souls, John failed to warble.

He has to live with that, just as do we.

Sorry John, if you were drunk, on steroids, martinis or just walleyed by what Suzyn was wearing that day, your o-for counts.

Your average will take the hit.

If you have what it takes to be a star, you'll just commit to a great second half and make up for it.

Be a warbler , John. Not a wimp.

Is it possible that John's previous warble was so long that like a mobious strip, it looped back on itself?

When you factor in a zero it's going to hurt. But there is really no way around it.

Will John have what it takes to put it behind him? I really can't say. But what I can say is that I'm rooting for him. Despite his recent signs of weakness I still believe in that man. If anyone can dominate after the all star break... it's John. If anyone can dig deep and roar a rictor scale warble... it's John. He is our answer. Who can stop John? Only John himself.

It's the same as counting Wang's horrid April outings. It will take a long time to gets the stats back.

But then again, the Yankees aren't about stats, they're about winning.

If Sterl hurls a few gems down the strech, all will be forgiven.

The Yankees aren't about spell check either!

I, personally, will be regarding it as another ridiculous outlier not to be included in data.
