John WinWarble hits 5.20 seconds... and then he opens his heart to the secret pain

It's not easy being the Voice of the Yankees, even when driven by Jeep.

Last night, John summoned up a 5.20 second WinWarble -- barely breaking the 500 Fran Healy Line -- to punctuate our 5-3 vic over the famous city of "Here Come the Brides." Then something happened.

Here is the warble.

Moments later, the Yankiverse digested this sober self-analysis from the man who, with partner Suzyn Waldman, plays symbolic hubby to the most married couple in America. Sterling watched himself on the Jumbotron -- the Yankees now add garish video images of his WinWarbles to the stadium's menu of attractions -- and gave the world a moment of introspection.

Tip of the hat to commenter TIM, who courageously endured the catcats of the two-person picket line to post one of the most critical messages of this or any other year.

Listen for yourself and feel the turmoil. (Warning: Send children from the room before clicking.)

You COULD link to the scabrous comment of Tim but that might require some intelligence, El Puzo.

Out here in the Evergray City, the final score was 8-5. Maybe the warble was muted because it was given after 7 innings.
