It stands at 7.94 seconds.
In the meantime, here is the updated Sterling Index. The Red Bar is his first-half average. As you can see, he's treading water, saving up for a huge eruption... waiting to pounce.
He is like a caged lion, brooding and snarling, ready to attack his zookeeper, obsessed with the primal urger to gourge himself on the meat of his captors!
Tonight... the lion pounces!

Love your site. I had the displeasure of listening to Sterling call Braves games on TV in the 1980s. At that time I thought he would soon be unemployed as a broadcaster, not the play-by-play man for the premier franchise in baseball. Life is a riddle and a mystery.
Check out my prediction for the 2009 World Series at http://myteamrivals.typepad.com/nationalpastime/2009/04/ladies-and-gentlemen-the-2009-world-series.html. There are five segments in all.
Keep up the great work!
Personally, I would prefer John to hit all time low win warbles in 50-5 blowout wins every night of the series. But you can have your drama, too.
