The REAL Anonymous says:

The only thing worse than an unanswered prayer is an answered prayer.

See this excellent analysis of Girardi's managerial shortcomings by Steve Goldman, formerly of Baseball Prospectus and now with SB Nation:

Oh, great. Four more years of little black three-ring binders, benching the team's best hitter of lefties against lefties, bringing in Joba types in close games, leaving CC in for 100 pitches even if he gives up a million bazillion runs...

Oy vey ist mir. Aye caramba. Merde.

The real Anonymous is going to have a hell of a lot of fun next year.

Fuck you Anonymous. I've been here from the get go. Because of media scrutiny, I stay anonymous. But trust me, you know who I am.

Goldman's article did shed light on the Giardi/Joba paradox. Supposedly brilliant manager brings in Meat Lasagna Joba who's destined to lose the game (and we fans all know it). I understand now but I'd rather not. It is disturbing knowledge.

Truth be told, Giardi could be replaced by a decent laptop programed by some sabermetric geek at RAB. Keep Jeter for the human element on the bench and Paulie for the occasional umpire fracas and brawl.
