We Need To Change The Thought Process

Just a dang minute.

If our two best hitters turn out to be Bird and Voit, we need to keep them both in the line-up.  The game I watched yesterday seemed comprised of striking out and hitting into double plays.  My favorite was when we loaded the bases with no one out,  and cold not push across a single run.  That moment told me ( and likely Booney ) that this team is ready for the wild card chase.

It is clear, however, that we cannot send offensive potential to Scranton.

So if General Lemahiue ( whatever the "F" his name is ) can be so utile that he can play first with a week or two of game experience in Florida, who is to say Bird or Voit can't play SS or third?  Why must the Yankee thinking always be single-minded and predictable?

Screw that.  It doesn't have to be only black or only white.

Hell, I'd put Bird at SS if he keeps hitting.  That old guy isn't going to last anyway.  And who would dare hit a ground ball to third if Voit was staring in?

This team cannot lose anyone who can actually hit the ball.

I am ready for some dramatic and productive changes.  Bird at Shortstop.  Cashman for the trash bin. Hal for Saudia Arabia.

Book it, Danno.

I HAVE BEEN MEANING TO BRING THIS UP, AND YOU BEAT ME TO IT...

IT HAS BEEN FESTERING IN ME SINCE I HEARD WE ARE ONLY GOING WITH 1 FIRST BASEMAN IN THIS "COMPETITION" BETWEEN VOIT AND BIRD.

LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT.

COOP CASHMAN SPENT $24 MILLION DOLLARS SO WE CAN SEND EITHER VOIT OR BIRD TO SCRANTON?

EVEN IF BOTH ARE HITTING???

INSANITY...PURE INSANITY.

FIRST OF ALL, THIS DJ GUY HARDLY EVER PLAYED 1ST BASE...JUST BECAUSE HE IS A GOLD GLOVE AT 2ND DOESN'T MEAN HE WILL BE GOOD AT FIRST, THIRD OR SHORT...

SECOND, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY.... WHY IS IT SET IN STONE THAT WE MUST HAVE 13 FUCKING PITCHERS?

WE WILL SEND DOWN EITHER VOIT OR BIRD, YET KEEP OUR #13 PITCHER ON THE ROSTER.

LAST YEAR, OUR #13 PITCHER WAS A.J. COLE.

HE RARELY PITCHED EARLY ON IN MOP UP ONLY, THEN PITCHED A LITTLE MORE LATER ON WHEN BOONEY GOT FOOLED AND THOUGHT HE MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING WITH HIM.

AS SOON AS THE CHANCES GOT A LITTLE MORE PRESSURIZED, COLE WAS AWFUL, THEN WAS HARDLY USED AGAIN.

WHO WOULD BE OUR #13 PITCHER THIS YEAR?

TARPLEY?... GERMAN?

POINT IS, WHY CARRY A MOP UP MAN WHO RARELY GETS USED OVER A GUY WHO CAN PLAY PART TIME AND POSSIBLY PRODUCE?

WE ARE SO FUCKED UP SOMETIMES, I'M TELLING YA...

....AND I AM TELLING YOU, THE FACT THAT CASHMAN HAS ASSEMBLED A TEAM WITH ALMOST NO LEFT HANDED HITTERS WILL MOST LIKELY LEAD TO OUR UNDOING.

HE IS A DUMB MF'ER.

I agree completely with Anonymous. If we can't win with 11 or 12 pitchers, then screw it. Let's go home.

We need guys who get hits, because we have too many guys who either strike out or hit a homer.

Any time you have bases loaded and nobody out and can't score, you should have a large L attached to your jerseys. For "Loser."

As previously noted, I'm all with you guys.

If you can't it done with 12 pitchers, get new pitchers.

Another thing we could do is force Stanton to earn his fortune by actually playing LF more, and put Voit or Bird in the DH slot.

This team is already completely lopsided. I just hope that, if Tulo is going to go down, he does it fast.

Even worse than a Scranton demotion, I really fear Coops making one of his witless trades of either Bird or Voit for magic beans.

Incidentally, I saw where somebody mentioned that passing on Bryce or Manny was 30 percent of Hal's purchase price of YES.

In fact, at $300 or $330 mill, it would've only been 10 percent—over 10 years.

And the whole buyback netted him over half-a-bill, from what I understand—a classic short-selling operation.

Maybe he really is a financial geek. Trouble is, he sure as hell isn't a baseball geek. And as someone pointed out, the Yanks are now partners with two of the worst companies in existence.

Hell is a greedy SOB. Unlike his old man, he only cares about his lifestyle, not the fans as he professes. No money for Harper but money for the YES network (which only feeds his bank account). How stupid can Yankee fans be? Also, Jacoby Hicks must have hurt his back signing that contract. Talk about stupidity and the Yankee management. Remember, who signed or traded for Hicks, Ellsbury, Stanton. Gray, Garcia, Cessa and maybe Paxton. Also, historically, we don't win many WS titles without left-handed bats.
