Open Letter to TBS: Kill your Pitch Trak graphic, or kill the ump

Dear Madam or Sir,

Something sucks.

It's either your PITCH TRAK thingy that claims to chart the strike zone. Or it's the umps.

Last night, balls and strikes were landing on your graphic like random chips on a bingo card. Strikes fell outside the hot zone. Balls landed in it.

To watch at home... freakin' maddening.

Frankly, I don't buy your graphics. I also suspect the CF camera doesn't give a dead-on image. (River Ave Blues has deftly noted this.)

But last night, pitches on your graphic were a joke.

Ron Darling tried to cover for it, claiming the ump was just giving the high strike. It didn't work. At one point, during one at bat, two balls landed exactly on each other in your cheesy graphic. One was a ball, one was a strike.

Kill the ump. Or kill the graphic. Or both. Something's gotta go.

The graphic was right the umpire was outstandingly awful.

This story misses the mark for TBS suckage, namely the broadcast trio of Carey, Darling, and Liberace.

Can't we kill them, too ?

I live in CT so I dont get Yankee games usually so I ordered the the games online. You also get the radio online as well. I put the game on TBS, mute it, put John and Suzyn on the computer and it times up almost perfectly.

Eh, maybe we live out of market and don't want to part with any of our ill gotten gains just to pay for a radio stream ?

Here in Boston we think the graphic was wrong AND the ump was awful.
