This date in the Yankee Matrix

After watching his stallions in the pen yesterday, Manager Joe announced that all is looking good in the Yankiverse.

Translation: Continue to consume, procreate and generate bio-electrical energy, Yankee-supporting flesh-machine.

It's Feb. 22, a day when Yankee hopes are always jacked high. Yes, dear friend, let's take a quick step into the Wayback and see some of the Feb. 22-23's of the not-so-distant past. Let's relive the voltage high within the Matrix.

2013:
"I've been stepping it up every day," Jeter said. "Every day is more and more. I've been increasing the workload since I started... You've got to be smart."

2012:
The Yankees' initial impressions of the 23-year-old Pineda have been promising, and it is clear they are banking on the 6-foot-7 hurler establishing a big presence.
"I'm working hard in Spring Training," Pineda said. "I want to help my team to the playoffs and the World Series. This is a very good team."

2011:

The 6-foot-10 Brackman, now three years removed from Tommy John surgery, still found a way to stand out. His stuff drew buzz as he kept the bats of Curtis Granderson, Brett Gardner, Justin Maxwell and Francisco Cervelli quiet.
"I thought he threw the ball well with command," Girardi said. "I thought his curveball was pretty sharp today, he threw a lot of strikes...Everything just seemed to be really consistent."

2010:

"He puts the barrel of the bat on the ball, and he has the ability to cut down his swing when he needs to do that," Girardi said. "He has a good idea."
Girardi said that he has already seen improvements in Montero's receiving and blocking, and that the top prospect is past the elementary stages in his development. The Yankees continue to project Montero as a Major League catcher.

Arrrrrrgah. OK, enough, ENOUGH, TURN IT OFF!  I cannot, emotionally, go any further back in time. You get the picture, right? Everything is a lie. We are living in a fantasy matrix. The big Girardi machine is generating all our perceptions. Stare too hard into this computer screen, and you might just see yourself staring back.

Better to submit, dear flesh machines. Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip... No reason to pull at the wires on your forehead... It started from this tropic port aboard this tiny ship... Hey, that Brackman guy - six foot ten, did they say? He could be good!
