New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's former deputy chief of staff, Bridget Anne Kelly,
yesterday invoked the Daily News Fifth Amendment, by refusing to discuss the George Washington Bridge scandal, but elaborating extensively on the Yankees need for a bullpen bridge to David Robertson.
Kelly is a central figure in the
controversy, having last year e-mailed a top Yankee and New Jersey official, saying, "Time for some Joba problems in the bullpen," to which manger Joe Girardi
replied, "Got it."
Instead of testifying before the grand jury investigating Christie, Kelly will appear with Yankee voice John Sterling to discuss up-and-coming prospects, who - with a little luck - might appear in Trenton during 2014.
