The last Tex message is the hardest

A sad day, but I'm glad he'll leave as a Yankee. You're on the mark, Teixeira.

The final remaining Yankees from 2009 will be CC, A-Rod, Gardy and Phil Coke. (Robbie Cano, didn't cha know?)

So Tex is leaving.

This is a strange season and a strange time to be a Yankee fan.

I feel like I'm watching some movie that was on and my wife has just walked in and asked "What's this?"

It's one of those movies where I know immediately it's not a great movie, but it's serviceable, if not intriguing. It's one of those movies where you have to think about it for a moment before answering, so you reply:

"I don't know. It was bad for awhile, but now it's getting kinda good. I'm still not sure where it's going. I'm too far into it to start over, but if you'd like to sit and watch for awhile, I'll tell you what's happened so far..."

Cano saw the handwriting on the wall, and it told him to bail on this cesspool lest he be sucked down by it.

Cano may have jumped ship but the ship he jumped to ain't much better, if at all.

Tex has been a class act and has had a great career. The Yankees are better for having had him. It is appropriate he retire as a Yankee. His injuries over the past few years have slowed him down. However, he is one of the best switch hitting power hitters in the history of the game and one of the best defensive first basemen . All fans and Yankees of past years hope he finishes his career on a hot streak.

He is a "real" Yankee, unlike Boggs, Clemens and their ilk.
