But only because they taste good.

I love the tag line: "Smoke a real cigarette."

Right. Bang that coffin nail in immediately, don't wait around for the emphysema to kill you in your fifties. Oy.

Hey, I resemble that remark. Okay, I've only been smoking for 43 years. I'd say 45, but I quite for two years at one point. It's a dirty, terrible habit, kids. Stay away from it.

But you old guys who are into the lighters, retro ashtrays, and gotta-haves with your whiskey or martinis, what the hell. We're all gonna die anyway. One whiff of that corona bug and we're probably toast.

All that said, I prefer State Express 555 cigs, but now that the only store selling them in our neighborhood is closed for the duration, I am going with my standby from younger days, which is Camel filters. A blend of Turkish and American tobaccos, don't you know. Even though I know from reading old ads that Luckys are preferred by doctors and movie stars because "It's toasted" and so easy on the throat. Except for the cancer thing. But otherwise, so easy.

When I was a little kid my grandparents lived in Winston Salem NC. Our family idea of a vacation was not Disneyland or whatever, it was a drive down to Winston Salem. A highlight, at the age of ten, was the Reynolds cigarette factory tour. The adult family all got free cigarettes, and we to to pose with a diorama mimicking a package of Camels. The factory was so loud the tour guide carried a speaker box. We were right on the factory floor in front of these huge glass fronted machines funneling cigarettes.

I remember brewery tours too, multiple brewery tours. This was the 1980’s.

If Yogi is talking to cats and they are talking back, must be more than tobacco in his cigarette...

Cigarettes are for the fans of the Queens Mets.

Gimme a cigar any time. You know the saying (which comes, amazingly enough, from Kipling):

"A woman is only a woman, but a good cigar is a smoke."

[yes, Kipling. See: https://www.bartleby.com/364/31.html]

Beauregard, if you're ever in Bavaria, go check out the Andachs brewery. This is beer on a whole other level—so good it should not even be called beer.

Get yourself a stein and one of their big chunks of roasted pork, and you will be in, as they say, hog heaven. But above all, try the beer. BEST BREWERY TOUR EVER.

My guilty memory from the 1980s was running in a barley hop. Five miles, stop five times for beer. It's a wonder they were even legal.

Remember these guys didn't get paid much. The extra money from these commercials was big for these guys.
