Any day now, Mr. Astro will just explode

He was a star in Houston, you know. The great Lance Berkman! A feared slugger was he! Man, he led the National League in RBIs... back in 2002!

He's now had 77 at bats in the American League. Five RBI's! And any day now, any way now, that first home run will come! Then he'll be tied with Randy Winn, Colin Curtis and Eduard Nunez for 12th place on the team -- with one.

Today, Lance came up in the 11th with the bases loaded and one out. Actually, they shouldn't have been loaded, because Baltimore intentionally walked two batters, so they could pitch to Lance. Then, amazingly, they played the infield back, conceding the run, as long as Lance didn't hit into a double play.

Guess what Lance did?

Go on, guess! It's fun! Did he get a hit? Noooooo. Did he draw a walk? Almost! In fact, if he hadn't swung the bat, he might have! Nope. Lance hit into a double play. His third as a Yankee! He's already ranked 8th on the team -- just one behind Austin Kearns and one ahead of Nick Johnson.

What a team: Kearns to Berkman to Johnson... DOUBLE PLAY!

Bucky knew exactly how worthless Berkman was from his NL days.

Fearless prediction of the day: Berkman gets a pie after one of our first-round play-off wins.
