The Yankees traded Brett Gardner for Donald Trump? Yow. Well, maybe The Donald can loan Hal a few $$.

When you root for the Yankees, you are rooting for America.

Rooting for a comeback from a multi-year descent.

Trying to be great again.

A team that was once the best in baseball, is now no longer the greatest in the world.

We need new leadership. We can become great again.

And that is what we are rooting for.

The Yankees.

America.

The American Yankees.

I think each day of this holiday season, I shall kick-off with a shot of tequila and a juicy slice of lime.

Who's with me?

As seems to be the new pattern for this team, the Yankees have settled on a proven mediocrity -- Castro -- over the high risk/reward of youth and potential -- Refsnyder. Needless to say, they haven't been interested in fielding a home-grown team in forever so that loss/disappointment is not part of today's lament.

It's some shift getting used to my team, this team, the New York Freakin' Yankees, being just another also-ran. We got to enjoy a 15-year dynasty, I suppose, but sheesh, this blows.

Oh my God! We just downgraded at second base:

In 2015, Castro batted .265 with 11 home runs, 69 RBIs and a .671 OPS. By contrast, the Yankees got a .223 batting average, 21 HRS, 64 RBIs and a .683 OPS out of a combination of Stephen Drew, Dustin Ackley, Gregorio Petit, Jose Pirela and Ryan.

TOM, THE CRAZY PART OF IT IS WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE PENNY PINCHING NOW, AND REFSNYDER WOULD PRACTICALLY BE FREE!!! ...I THINK CASTRO IS COSTING US SOMETHING LIKE $30 MILLION OVER THE NEXT FEW YEARS.....MAYBE CASHMAN HAS A PLAN HERE, BUT THE LAST BUNCH OF YEARS IT SEEMS LIKE WE ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE...AND IT SHOWS IN TEAM PERFORMANCE.....HOPEFULLY, CASTRO (WHO IS STILL REAL YOUNG), CAN GET SOME HITS IN THE CLUTCH AND DRIVE IN SOME RUNNERS IN SCORING POSITION, WHICH IS SOMETHING WE ARE HORRIBLE AT...... LETS HOPE FOR THE BEST....

I will miss Adam Warren. Not the most electric stuff but he was consistent, something that hardly any of the other pitchers they have can say. Sadly, this trade likely means that we're stuck with that bag of shit Nova for another season. NO, no, this is not about Nova, this is about Adam Warren. He was one of the only Yankee pitchers that believed that a hanging slider was not a viable pitch when behind in the count. I am happy that he got traded to a team that has a bright future and I wish him the best. Good night sweet prince.

IMAGINE BEING REFSNYDER, WHO HAS BEEN IN TAMPA WORKING OUT FOR WEEKS ALREADY...THE MENTAL TORTURE WE KEEP PUTTING ON HIM, CONTINUES.....
