Letter to the Edtor: World at War... Bufallo, o Buffalo

Buffalo News (New York)

To the editor,

To all those who deny that the Yankees bought the championship, consider:

1. Since 2001-2008 how many World Series championships did the Yankees win with their core players -- Jeter, River, Posada, and Pettitte? Let me help -- less than one.

2. Without Sabathia, Burnett, and Teixeira it is questionable that they even would have made the playoffs this year.

3. Who will the Yankees play at first base next year, Pujols or Tex? That is after they acquire Pujols, Molina, Wainright, Carpenter and Holliday after they buy the St. Louis franchise, add the above to their roster, and end the Cardinals.

4. How are the Yankees good for baseball when they raid other franchises of their best players resulting in severe attendance losses in those franchises.

Here's for an NFL salary cap in baseball.

Moving the Yankees to the NFL so they would be bound by the NFL salary cap raises serious roster construction issues. Plus, we'd need another new stadium. I vote no.
