Days Without Baseball

I have good times drinking when the Yankees are on.

Even if they suck.  Almost even if we fans have to endure a "pineapple" of a loss.

Drinking on a day when the Yankees are not playing, can be a different story.  On those days, I hear too much about the lunacy at the top of our government.  And I mean not just the very top, but of traitors like Paul Ryan, who sits there nodding his agreement with whatever irrational, disconnected nonsense Trump is saying.

These representatives of our in Congress, those not resisting the psychotic blatherings, are basically saying;  " It's all politics and money.  the Country be damned. "

And so I drink.  And keep drinking.

Waiting for a better day.

Waiting for a yankee game.

Writing as a former big supporter of Trump: Amen, Alphonso.

I can't stand the guy anymore; I foolishly believed the words he said because he seemed to mean them. That might make me naive, or at least a polar opposite politically to you and most of the people on here, but I picked him, and he won, and as much as I despise her I wish Hillary'd pulled it off. I was wrong. He sold my ass out, and I wasn't alone; what, about 50 or so million in the boat with me? It had to be his plan all along. Fox News (who should NEVER have been considered some barracks of conservative thought in the first place) is sticking with him. Fuck that. I, like assboy Limbaugh re:Obama, hope he fails.

And five beers into a six of PBR tallboys, after watching a few Seinfelds to take the edge off hating the world on a night without an Aaron Judge at-bat, I am, sir, your compatriot in disillusion, alcohol, and escape.

May the Black Swan head for the Potomac soon. And may it arrive hungry and ill-tempered.

I take back the word "disillusion" as regards to your side of things. The rest? stet or -40- or whatever.

I'm with you one thousand percent, Fonz - - it's days like this one (which will live in infamy) that make me wish I DID drink - - but I take too much medication for that.

I can't stomach the sight or sound of that bloated, blustering ignoramus with the orange hair - - and that goes for Lyin' Ryan, the oh-so-pseudo "intellectual" (Ayn Rand is intellectual??), the granny-starving, baby-killing, climate-wrecking facilitator of the already too-well-off.
Can't wait until tomorrow, for one of the few distractions that has ever been effective for me.
Stay healthy, my friend.

Fuel for drinking...the last time the Yankees won the World Series with a Republican president...you have to go back to the Eisenhower administration...

Well, we don't actually have a Republican president right now, we have some kind of bizarre mutation of Huey Long. So all may not be lost.

Here's the thing that I've discovered thanks to Trump: I'm not really a liberal. I'm pretty conservative on a number of things, like Severino, Pineda, CC, and the resurrection of Headley and Jacoby. The problem with this politically is that a lot of the people calling themselves Republicans aren't conservatives, in my understanding of the word. They're all batshit crazy radicals who don't give a doo-doo about spending our dimes centuries into the future. They're focused on winning elections, and nothing else, which is kind of weird because why win elections if you really have nothing beyond that? Aside from lining your own pockets, which The Orange Plague is very good at doing.

Not enough politicians seem to be thinking about how to solve problems, like healthcare, which works so much better in Europe and is so much cheaper, it's embarrassing.

Imagine Greg Bird in a private Austrian clinic. Nice atmosphere, professional, no wires hanging from the drop ceiling, clean furniture. Wizard medical staff that can actually find your file. And even Greg's ankle operation is about 1/5 of what it costs here, maybe even less. And private insurance costs half what it does here, if you want it.

Unfortunately, good pitching is still expensive everywhere. And we shouldn't give up our young talent to get it. Here's a radical notion: let's let our young pitchers develop and see what we have. You know, like with our newly acquired position prospects.

Nahhhhh. Never happen. Hal's too Republican. And these days, who knows what that is.

"And now, let's honor America by playing an ancient record and pretending we're not a bunch of ignorant yahoos."

OK.... THEN I AM THE HAPPIEST GUY HERE ...... BECAUSE I LOVE WHAT THIS PRESIDENT IS TRYING TO DO, AND MOST OF WHAT HE STANDS FOR, AND I LOVE THE YANKEES AND WHAT THEY HAVE BEEN ACCOMPLISHING.
WANT TO IMAGINE MUCH MORE HORROR THAN WHO IS IN CHARGE NOW?.... THINK ABOUT PEOPLE LIKE......
ELIZABETH WARREN
NANCY FUCKING PELOSI
HUMA ABEDIN
ANTHONY BIG DICK WEINER
CHUCK "JUST RESIST NO MATTER WHAT" SCHUMER AND,
HILLARY RODHAM DELUSION
RUNNING THIS COUNTRY AND CALLING THE SHOTS?????

CASE CLOSED. YOU ALL ASKED FOR IT.
