Did you know there's a George M. Steinbrenner High School?


Did you know that their soccer team  beat The Jesuits? And that they're the #1 seed following their first regular season in existence?? From the second link:
The victory not only gave Steinbrenner (8-0 in district play) the top seed in the upcoming Class 4A, District 9 tournament, it served notice the Warriors — who have no seniors and only five juniors — may be a rising county force.

The source of John's secret pain ...



Yes, this is the "funny, funny, funny" thing that John Sterling was referring to in the previous post. The photo is from the June 4 game vs. the Rangers. Sorry about the fuzziness, my camera was so overwhelmed by the wonder of the warble that it refused to focus. (And you can't image how large that video board is until you've actually been in the stadium. It should have its own zip code.)
