Boston Redsocks heartthrob Jacoby Ellsbury added yet another trophy to his mantle Wednesday when he was named Best in Show at the the Westminster Kennel Club's annual battle of the breeds.
Ellsbury, who last year was induced into the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, was overdue for a new honor. Two weeks ago, he was snubbed by the American Motion Picture Academy in nominations for the Oscar -- after also failing to win a Grammy.
Trainer Peter Gammons said his beloved pet appeared to be delighted with the award.
"Tonight, he'll eat like Big Papi," the trainer said.
