This whole offseason, the thought of Jorge Posada in a Seattle Mariners or Kansas City Royals uniform was painful. I'm all for players suiting up as long as they can, but the thought of Jorge in anything other than pinstripes was something I didn't want to see. I kept thinking of the lyrics of the Baseball Project song "Long Before My Time" (which is about Sandy Koufax, but, hey, the lyrics still fit).
My mind and body say I'm done,
But something says I must go on.
Conventional wisdom does implore,
You give it all then give some more.
Summer slowly turns to fall,
It's so hard to walk away from it all ...
