Yankees trade for pitcher who heroically went undercover to expose Pirates abuse

They have traded a PTBNL - player to be named later - for Pirates hurler J.T. Brubaker, who could return from Tommy John surgery this summer.

Brubaker, 30, infiltrated the Pirates Pittsburgh-based penal colony in 2020 and actually started Opening Day for them the following year. His testimony about the terrible living conditions in Northwestern Pennsylvania and Bradenton, Florida, formed the basis of a full-length motion picture, sending several Pirate officials to jail.

Along with Brubaker, the Yankees received "international money," which is fun to play with, because it resembles the dollars in board games.

Yep, he gave up 6 runs on 12 hits in 5 innings

BTW, Regarding the international bonus pool money, it does not apply to Japanese or Korean olayers since they are already considered professionals.

Just an FYI - Sevy got shelled today in his first start for the Mets. Shelled I tells ya, shelled!

The umpiring, specifically balls and strikes, has been nothing short of atrocious in this series. Again, I beg for the implementation of the ASZ, removing umps from the equation. Afraid of angering the Umpire Union?

Give us a break. Let’s make the SZ standard and 100% accurate.

Buck said he’d never announce another baseball game…

Ranger - I didn't know that but I can't say it makes me unhappy. The only time I've ever liked him was on Brockmeyer.

Yankees win while committing three errors. If I was an Astros fan I'd be worried. The best part, is that we are 3-0 for the first time since I could fool myself into believing that I was still young. So there is great rejoicing. The Brain is a front-runner for baseball executive of the year honors.

Amazing! And Cabrera picking up just we learn that DJ has a broken foot. Boy, the juju gods are really setting us up.

Sevvy wasn't as bad as the boxscore looks; he got hurt by several bleeders and bloops. But still, not good.
