Another year of wondering just how we'll lose today,
Another year of being told that everything's okay.
Another year ignoring all his anger and his sorrow,
Another year of claiming Stanton's slump will end tomorrow.
Another year predestined to another autumn flub,
Another year to watch him run a cozy country club.
Another year avoiding and refusing to confront,
Another year of batters who will never learn to bunt.
Another year of heading to a mid-October slaughter.
Another year of lugging Brian Cashman's tired water.
Another year of bullpen moves that rile and incense us,
Another year of instant challenge replays gone against us.
Another year of smiling, always hyping false morale,
Another year of bowing to the problem: Food Stamps Hal.
Another year of post-game shows, so tiring and sober,
Another year of sitting home and watching in October.
Another year of peaking back in May or early June,
Another year of nothing: We are keeping Aaron Boone.

Boone does a great job of doing what Brian wants...heck I can do that...
So what happens after the Dodgers sign Soto and Roki Sasaki?
Um, this isn't Yankees related. I'm struggling right now. I won't be posting much, but please know that I will be here with you every day.
Take care of yourself, Win. You're the only you we've got.
Duque, this is a really nice piece of work. And so sadly true.
Be well, Winny. Stay strong…..
El Duque - That's a really good piece. Good rhythm. Funny, poignant, and all too true.
My best to you!
Loved it duque!
Winnie - I'm sorry you are struggling. Hang in there.
Here are two things that tend to work for me.
The first is a concept called the "Second Arrow" The first arrow is real and damaging and needs to be dealt with but every time you lie in bed dwelling on it when there is nothing you can do at the moment or having the same worries and arguments in your head when there's no one there to argue with... that's the second arrow and it's just you shooting yourself.
When I find myself doing that I just go, "Second Arrow" and I tend to stop.
The other piece of advice is Solvitur ambulando . All is cured by walking. There are a number of ways to interpret this but no matter which way you go I have found it to be true.
Hope this helps and remember Gam ze ya'avor. (This Too Shall Pass)
I took the Border Collie on a walk. Picking up her turds is so very centering.
Amen, Win! I have a pit bull and I live for picking up large piles. Know that whatever it is, with people or dogs, it will pass.
So sorry to hear that Warbler. Our thoughts are with you. And if there's anything at all we can do to help, or if you just want to voice some things, please don't hesitate to ask.
I love this, Doug. Thanks for posting it.
Hang in there, Winnie, and please keep us posted
Duque, God bless you and God bless the power of verse. I am having some trouble with my little dog and just hanging out with him. We will all try to hang on the best that we can. I’m not even gonna say “and see what next year brings“, but we will hang together.
Dogs and cats and orange rats….what a challenging week within an even more challenging year.
Great advice Doug. I was taught a similar although different technique by my mentor in college. It has evolved slightly over the years as but still works beautifully.
We have a long and slender white and cashmere grey female Pitty mix and an older wire haired dachshund terrier that’s beginning to show signs of straddling the other side.
My best to everyone
Excellent Duque....you just need to set those words to music and you'll become the next big rapper. Your name should be: "NYC Rappin' Grampy".
WinWarb- If the funk is election-related, remember they are paying a huge bounty for medical personnel north of the border.
