After tonight, we'll close the book on the torture chamber known as 2025.
The exploding bullpen. Three LH catchers. The rise of Grisham. The fall of Volpe. The voice of the Yankees, David Sims. Another great - but wasted? - season for Aaron Judge. Another lost year for The Martian...
We could go on. Let's not. Life is too short. That's Chinatown, Jake. That's baseball, Suzyn.
After tonight, it's the season of whatabouts.
Whatabout Jazz? Whatabout Stanton? Whatabout Cole, Trump's ballroom, Katy Perry, the oceanic UAPs, the looming storms... whataboutchermama?
After tonight, baseball belongs to the Dodgers' checkbook or Canadian pride.
After tonight, the looming question of NYC becomes whether Trump will invade or just cut the food supplies - where's Snake Plisken? - if Mamdani, a Mets fan, wins.
After tonight, we return to the sad, tiresome continuum of watching Brian Cashman remake the roster, via an algorithm.
After tonight No... wait... today... it's November, the month of bacon fat skies and cold rain. Never does opening day feel farther away.

All the leaves are brown, and the sky is gray.
Stanton and Judge are ours forever. Volpe will return. Jazz and Grish, probably not. Cole will not be the Cole that used to be. Spencer and Jasson and JT will continue to wilt, then rot, on the vine.
I do not recognize the bullpen at all anymore. Luke was the thread I could follow, but he's likely heading elsewhere. Cole, Fried, Gil, Schlittler, and Warren...maybe. It might work. Rodon should be sent to more hospitable climes.
Remember the 2008-9 offseason? I wonder if the ever more loudly clamoring by the fans and a sliver of the press will lead to Hal and Cashman opening the vault and signing some big names, so we have a real chance of winning it all in 2026. After eight seasons of ringlessness from 2001-8, I think they were a little embarrassed. Now, it's been, what, 16?
Can they still be embarrassed, or has that ship sailed after all these years? They sure don't seem to care. It's all about the Benjamins. And I don't mean Rice.
Riddle me this, true believers.
When is the off season in season ?
Stunning to watch the BJs kick away that 9th inning last night. All they needed was the situational hitting to score two runs by making good outs. Instead, they looked just like the Yankees, popping the ball up and running the bases like drunken sailors.
No one ?
Ok…..
When it’s the Yankees’ season.
That Yamamoto sure is going to go places
