And the winner for best supporting actor... is AROD!

BREAKING _ FLASH _ DATELINE: HOLLYWOOD!

A little birdie tells me that all-star benchwarmer Alex Rodriguez, alias the A-Rod, is in talks to appear in a big-budge blockbuster boomtime breakout starring Emma "Zombieland" Stone and Woodie "Zombieland" Harrelson, directed by Will "Easy A" Gluck -- in a kiss-em-up comedy that also stars Patricia "Jumanji" Clarkson, Jenna "Mork & Darma-or-whatever-that-sitcom was" Elfman and Andy "** in My Pocket" Samburg. Says the weasel wire:

New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez is in negotiations to make his big-screen debut in the movie, although it's unclear if he'll be playing himself or a fictional character.

Our hope -- he plays the ex-pro wrestler,"The Rock."

Also, write this down: Within three bloody Marys of the first rehearsal, Alex will be bouncing Patty Cougar Clarkson like an overinflated soccerball on the nearest Motel 6 Magic Fingers PostureMatic. He's learned the ways of Tinsel Town. He's already traveled to Fiftyville with Madonna, the Skelator of Music. The man is not just chasing Barry Bonds, he's chasing Helen Mirren, the queen of screen. A little Oscar sauce would grease that surgically repaired hip. Hooray for Hollywood. Play ball.

A-Rod isn't the only star who needs to work in Hollywood. E! is calling El Duque.
