Bridge For Sale, Mark Feinsand Buyer

from Mark's blog: Taking the "party line" on not going after Crawford or Werth because Brett Gardner is so good
I've had a lot of reaction to today's story in the Daily News, which cited two sources who said the Yankees are unlikely to pursue either Carl Crawford or Jayson Werth on the free-agent market....

Gardner sucked in the second half, and he will suck again next year. Trade him now, while some other team might still think he's worth having. Package him with one of our better prospects to get a good pitcher another club needs to trade because he's nearing free agency, or trade him straight up for a young pitching prospect.

Buck Foston says,

Joe you are wrong trade Swisher instead he can't get it done in October while Gardner can just by using his legs.

Sample sizes are small, but they don't support you, Buck.
Postseason carrer stats:

OBP: Swisher .302; Gardner .227

Slugging pct.: Swisher .314; Gardner .175

Stealing: Swisher 0 for 0; Gardner 3 for 5, which is actually worse than never trying.
