Holy Crap! A certain big name IT IS HIGH blogger just got written up in the New Yorker

Our own HoraceClarke66 -aka Kevin Baker - is getting well deserved praise from the hoity-toity coastal elite media. If you haven't bought his book yet - what are you waiting for?

(Not that I'm jealous or anything - I mean, anybody who knows me knows that I don't have a jealous bone in my body - but Jeeze Krice, I'm still waiting on my submissions to the Man-Beast Barnyard Love Gazette.)

Meanwhile, here's a gander...

Seriously, congratulations, Hoss!

Now... about that prediction of yours for 2024...

Sixty Nine wins?

Aww, thanks guys! Today I consider myself (self self self) the luckiest blogger on the face of the earth (earth earth earth)...

It certainly was great to see and should help sales. Not sure, though, where he got the idea that I was "hard-boiled" in that book, or that I "condescended" to the writers I mentioned. If anything, I worried that I was too nice to each.

But this isn't a complaint. There will be plenty to complain about in the season to come, praise the Cashman!

Congratulations, Hoss! I just started the book but I like it already. Sounds like the reviewer brought some baggage to the piece, but still. Hard to go wrong with being in the New Yawkah.

First off - Mega congrats!

Secondly - "If anything, I worried that I was too nice to each."

So you are saying that in addition to condescending to them you wanted to trash them completely and held back. You're mean. :) :) :).

I agree with JM. There's baggage there. Maybe he still blames you for the death of Gahan Wilson. It wasn't your fault.

All I really need to know is: To get to that 69-win prediction, did Hoss run 100,000 simulations? Or at least 25,000?

And yes, of course I bought the book!

Right now it's #3 in the line-up, behind a bio of Benjamin Franklin Butler and a book on the Merovingians, the Knights Templar, the Priory of Scion, and The Holy Grail....among other things.

By the way, I ordered the book on pre-sale a long time ago. It never came. (I was in Florida for three weeks, and I just figured it was probably waiting on my doorstep.)

I'm back, and I've re-ordered it. Looking forward to the chapter on Doug K.

Hoss,

Just started reading and it is great. I feel like I'm already dodging the horse manure at the polo grounds.

Hope you don't become too popular for this little end of the interwebs.

And at least a couple free drinks at the secure undisclosed location at the next geezer gathering.
