The glass is half-full!

Good news!

Jazz "50-50" Chisholm is well on the way to attaining half of his 2026 goals for a 50-home run, 50-stolen base season!

Jazz, seen here preparing for the FIFA 2026 World Cup, already has 7 stolen bases in just 8 attempts. Projected over a full, 162-game season, that would give Chisholm 63 total stolen bases in 72 tries, thereby smashing his own projection all to bits.

Whoa, we're halfway there!

As for the home run part, well...we did say, "glass half-full."

Perhaps we need another goal?  Maybe, say, 50 hits?

Whoa, livin' on a prayer!

If is goal were to be a Moron, he is already there!

But, edb, Boone says he's intelligent. Still cracks me up.

Carl, I love VolpE-6. Perfect.

I guess this will serve as the game thread? They just started.

Ouch. Peraza tagged Fried. 2-0

Huge lollipop served up by Fried on that one.

The King of the first inning.

Judgerino.

Boone needs to tell jizz to stop challenges until he figures out the strike zone

Always a smart move to burn your challenges in non-key situations

Stanton!

Oh, doctor. JC got a hit.

Bonus points if you get the current event pun there.

Looks as though the NY Yankees got Boone'd in the Sixth inning.

Is there a Rally in their Boone's ?

Cab steals then gets picked off. So we get JC to lead off. Just swell.

Trout should have been a Yankee…

Can we DFA Millie Chivilli?

I finally did! Good one!

Whilst they're at it - I can suggest at least three or four more folks in that dugout that I'd like to see DFA'd.

Looks like the complete game package today! Let's review:

—Four outs—count 'em, FOUR OUTS–lost on the base paths through seven innings.
—Max Fried with one of his inexplicably awful games ("You can't hope to stop Oswald Peraza, all you can do is contain him.")
—Boone doing his bit by refusing—REFUSING—to pitch around Mike Trout, no matter how many home runs he hits.
—A bullpen that's burnt out by mid-April.
—An increasingly desperate Judge trying to hit a grand slam with nobody on base.
—The Master Plan coming through again, as Judge hits second, and Bellinger hits behind him...

...BUT...

Jazz Chisholm remains hot in pursuit of (one-half of) his 50-50 goal, with another stolen base. Although...the Gay Caballero ties him with 8 steals of his own!!

Why folks, this is looking like a replay of the Mantle/Maris, 1961 Great Home Run Race! (If, of course, Mantle and Maris were not actually chasing a revered baseball record but some completely ancillary goal that no one much cared about. Otherwise, it's exactly the same!)

Oh Jesus. Game over.

Yarborough doesn't know the rule or Rice doesn't know the rule. Either way, CashBoone's Yankees. And as night follows day...

He won’t be here too long.

So against the mediocre (or worse ) Angels, the Yankees get blown away twice and get a couple of one run wins. Thanks to Boone, the bullpen is already spent in mid-April. While the bottom of the lineup is beginning to stir, every single one of them will struggle to break .200.
The game unraveled when Chisolm failed to handle Rosario’s throw after his great stop at third. Of such small things are failures built.

Ok, I don't get it.

So, instead of bringing up Lagrange and Rodriguez, 2 pitchers with good stuff, they'll continue to go with the Chivillis and Yarboroughs of the world. Pitchers that can't get anyone out. Unbelievable.
