MOSCOW (AP) - Italy's Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, in a not-too-subtle dig at his American brothers, described U.S. President-elect Barack Obama on Thursday as "young, handsome and even tanned."
Berlusconi appeared to be joking about America's first black president at a news conference following talks with Russia's president.
"I hope the first black President doesn't encounter the problems that plagued the first Italian-American President," Berlusconi cracked. "Remember him? Remember how he had to endure all those, "That's amore'!" shouts while he was trying to make policy?"
