What We Talk About When We Talk About Spring: Letter from a Redsock Fan

Dear [el Duque],

I have always disregarded the complaints from those in other parts of the country that the press gives and inordinate amount of coverage to East Coast teams, and particularly to the Yankees. But I have been forced to change my mind.

Have you been watching the coverage of spring training? It's Yankees this, and Yankees that, and even Yankee cousins.

You'd think no other team was at Spring Training. What about the Cactus League, for crying out loud?

And lots of players from lots of other teams have cousins as well.

The whole thing is an outrage.
