Sheer Mag tonight in Syracuse

My sons' band - Sheer Mag - is playing tonight in Syracuse. Afterward, they'll come over to the house, and we might have a drink or two.

As a result, my daily report on the Yankees tomorrow could be delayed. Or impaired. Or rendered incoherent.

Alphonso? John? LBJ? KD? Bern? Bill White? Mustang? Anybody... can you cover for me?

I assume we will win, and I will hold you all accountable if I'm wrong.

Due to my advanced age and the fact that I suck, I cannot guarantee staying awake past the third. But I'll try to contribute a bang-up analysis of the singing of the national anthem and the exchange of lineup cards.

In addition to sucking at staying awake, I can also be a little slow: What was the reason you illustrated your post with a photo of Kim Jong-un? I'm not quite sure I see the sequitur.

Have fun with the boys.

That was me staying topical.

Tonight's the real test to see if the magic from the blood sacrifice/Cashman article is still flowing. If Pineda doesn't stink up the joint, then yes.

ALL CAPS TO THE RESCUE..... PARTY ON EL DUQUE.

Oh! The party is on. Indeed! Seven in a row, motherfuckers! I love winning pennants and world series. Long winning streaks are the next best thing, especially after a bottle of Absolut for no particular reason with my buddy. Greg Bird says he heard the Joggy Cano references and says stick it up your ass. Pineda says he's the second coming of Bob Gibson, but maybe not as mean and certainly not as good but, you kn ow, he won a couple of games in a row and, by golly, that's fuckin' great. Right? It doesn't take much to get me riled up, and I am happy to ignore all my doom-and-gloom predictions -- even if I did say the Yankees would win 93 or something like that in the pick-your-number contest -- when we're rocking and rolling on a 7-game win streak. John and Suzyn must be in seventh heaven.

FINAL GAME RECAP! YANKS 9 CARDS 3
PINEDA WAS SOLID TONIGHT AND HAD REAL GOOD STUFF AGAIN, I WAS SEEING 95, 96, AND REMEMBER HEARING 97 ONCE.... THE SLIDER WAS SHARP, AND HIS CONTROL WAS GOOD....THAT'S 2 EXCELLENT STARTS IN A ROW.

JUDGE HAD A HOMER WHICH WAS CALLED A TRIPLE AFTER REVIEW....THE FAN CAUGHT THE BALL AROUND WAIST HEIGHT, BUT WITH A DOWNWARD MOVEMENT OF HIS GLOVE, HE DROPPED THE BALL BACK ONTO THE FIELD..... IT ALL BECAME A MOOT POINT WHEN GREG BIRD BLASTED A 2 RUN HOMER, SCORING JUDGE IN THE NEXT AT BAT.

OF COURSE, THERE WAS THE USUAL ANNOUNCER DRIBBLE BY AARON BOONE ABOUT HOW GREAT A JOB BRIAN CASHMAN HAS DONE, YADA YADA....

AFTER READING THIS BLOG, AND COUNTERACTING ALPHONSO AND EL DUQUE BY NECESSITY, GREG BIRD IS SHOCKINGLY BACK ON TRACK..... 3 HITS (NO CHEAP ONES), INCLUDING A BOOMING HOMER, A LINED DOUBLE AND AN ADDED WALK TOO........ HALLELUJAH!!!

AARON HICKS HIT A SOLO HOMER IN THIS GAME, AND HE CONTINUES TO CONTRIBUTE, AND PROVE ME WRONG IN THE PROCESS..... I LOVE IT, AS LONG AS HE HELPS US WIN.

DELLIN GOT HIS 3 OUTS, BUT CONTINUES TO SCARE US BY PUTTING ON THE TYING AND GO AHEAD RUNS ON BASE.

RONALD TORREYES GOT AN RBI BASE HIT LATE IN THE GAME, AND I BELIEVE HE HAS 10 RBI'S IN 12 GAMES....GOTTA LOVE "TOE".

NO NEED TO USE CHAPMAN AS WE EXTENDED THE LEAD....BRIAN MITCHELL, WHO HAS LOOKED REAL SHARP SO FAR THIS SEASON, LET THE FIRST 3 GUYS ON BASE IN THE 9TH INNING, GAVE UP 1 RUN, BUT DID CLOSE THE GAME OUT FOR THE VICTORY.

POST GAME SHOW:
"CAPS COMMENTS"
THIS TEAM IS FUN TO WATCH....AARON JUDGE IS INTRIGUING AND A THREAT EVERY TIME HE COMES TO THE PLATE...

RONALD TORREYES IS A BIT OF A SPARK PLUG, AND LOOKS REAL COMFORTABLE AT THE PLATE AND IN THE FIELD...

CHASE HEADLEY AND AARON HICKS ARE CONTRIBUTING!

THE MASTER DUG DEEP WITH HIS HOME RUN CALL FOR BIRD TONIGHT.... "IIIITT IIISSSSS GONE!!!".... SWEET MUSIC TO THE EARS!

THE MASTER HAD ANOTHER FASCINATING CALL TONIGHT.... ON AUSTIN ROMINE'S DOUBLE, HE PROCLAIMED THE RIGHT CENTER FIELD ALLEY, "THE ROMINE ALLEY"....UNBELIEVABLE!
