I have been expressing concern for our rookie, Bird, and his injured foot.
The Yankees, in my view, rushed him back for yesterday's game.
I do understand that Carter is not physically fit to play 162 games, given that he was
signed as a back-up.
So Bird, naturally, told everyone, " I'm ready. I'm good." Otherwise, we'll be seeing Romine at
first ( with Beltran out of the picture).
Let's hope he is an honest young man, and understands the implications of a nagging and lingering injury, as opposed to toughing his way through another game at the stadium.
If he is 100% healthy, then I will happily shut-up about that.
However, he went 0-4 with 3 strike outs. I didn't get to see them, but strike outs rarely make a player look good.
He is hitting .050
In my terms, that is 50 basis points. Like what Banks now pay on your Savings.
Something ain't right.
