Mike at River Avenue Blues has finally had it with this team...

...and if you read him often enough to know how level headed he is, it reads like a murder indictment:
The Yankees didn’t just lose Thursday afternoon/night’s 18-inning marathon with the Athletics because they couldn’t buy a hit after the first inning. They also lost because they half-assed their way through an offseason in which they deemed it acceptable to downgrade all over the field despite a) winning the division by the skin of their teeth last year, and b) knowing it was very likely going to be Mariano Rivera‘s final season. Real nice going away present. That surfboard the A’s gave him today was more respectful.
Go savor the rest.

Mo didn't lose this one as much as he allowed the A's to put us out of our misery. we could have played 18 more innings without scoring. we could all feel it.

This is almost as much fun as losing the World Series to a franchise with the idiotic name of the "Diamondbacks".

I forgot the game was on and belatedly looked at a text from my sister who said, "The FOURTEENTH???"

Then I had to follow the last two damn innings on my phone. Damn, I shoulda never looked at that text. I was out drinking. It didn't help.

Come back, Shane.
