Ten existential questions for the Yankees and their juju gods

1. Who made the decision - Cashman, Boone, Hal, Judge, Dua Lipa? - to bat Giancarlo?

2. On the last pitch of 2026, Jazz Chisholm was breaking for third. Would he have stolen it?

3. Did Paul Goldshmidt's two rather lame Yankee seasons help or hurt his Hall of Fame chances?

4. Will Aaron Judge ever again be Aaron Judge?

5. Are we going to wait on Anthony Volpe for the fourth straight year?

6. To be sated, how much money do the Steinbrenners need?

7. In our lifetimes, will the Yankees ever develop a homegrown all-star 3B?

8. Are the Yankees prisoners of a HR mentality that stems from the right field "porch?"

9. What happens if the Mets ever field a great team?

10. Considering the state of the world - from measles to diesels - should we even bother to think about 2027?

I mean, Tim Hill will be a free agent. Why the fuck should anybody care?

Chris Kirschner of The Athletic has ventured forth--or sallied forth, or fourth and 1 (go for it!)--with his predictions for our free agents. I can't disagree, though I still like Hill if Boone can stop overusing him.

Grisham--Goes
Chisholm--Goes
Bednar--Stays
Goldy--Goes
Schreiber--Goes (does Jack Burns have to go with him?)
Hill--Goes
Rosario--Goes (ohpleaseohpleaseohplease)
Yarbrough--Stays
Blackburn--Stays, Singing in the Dead of Night
Fulmer--Goes and Why the Fuck Was He Ever Here
